Central Florida News 13 is reporting about the death of a 40-year old Cocoa man in a tragic motorcycle accident.  Apparently, the Cocoa man was travelling down State Road 520 in Merritt Island when a pickup truck attempted to execute a U-turn and pulled directly into the motorcycle’s path.  The motorcycle could not avoid the pickup truck, and a wrongful death resulted.

As an Orlando motorcycle accident attorney, I have previously pleaded with people in Central Florida to be on the lookout for motorcyclists.  Central Florida, and especially Volusia County, has a very active and dynamic motorcycling community.  We have two large motorcycle gathering each year (Speed Weeks and Biketoberfest), which bring thousands of motorcyclists and millions of dollars into our regional economy each year.  Everyone in Central Florida should realize this, appreciate the calendar, and be on the lookout for motorcyclists.
