The Orlando Sentinel recently reported a tragic Orlando car accident involving one woman from Orlando, and another woman from Ocoee.

A 26-year old Orlando woman was apparently trying to make a left-hand turn out of the parking lot of the Walmart store located on Turkey Lake Road in Orlando.  Unfortunately, she pulled her vehicle directly into the path of a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 37-year old Ocoee woman.  Apparently, there was a horrible collision which resulted in one death and serious injuries to the other woman.

Our hearts go out to the families of both women.  As a Winter Park personal injury law firm, we have seen more than our fair share of wrongful deaths and serious personal injuries.  We know that, in most cases, serious accidents could have been avoided if a driver had only taken an additional moment to take a second look before pulling out into traffic.  One extra glance costs so little time, and can be the difference between a horrific crash and a safe trip home.

So the next time you are pulling out of a parking lot – in Central Florida, or anywhere else – don’t forget to take a good long look both ways.
